Contact Our OfficeWhy early detection matters
Many cancers can be treated more effectively when diagnosed at an early stage — which is why awareness and community participation are so important.
"Cancer is one of the most serious health challenges of our time, but it is also a challenge that can be addressed with awareness, early detection, timely treatment, emotional support, and collective action."
Nepal Cancer Support Group was established in April 2010 with the belief that people affected by cancer need more than medical treatment. They need information, guidance, counseling, emotional strength, family support, and a community that understands their journey.
Over the years, NCSG has worked to promote cancer awareness, screening, prevention, survivor interaction, advocacy, and capacity building in different communities of Nepal. Through awareness camps, school programs, anti-smoking campaigns, cancer screening activities, oncology nursing training, and survivor interaction programs, we have tried to bring cancer education and support closer to the people.
One of the most important messages we want to share is that early detection saves lives. Many cancers can be treated more effectively when diagnosed at an early stage. However, fear, lack of awareness, social stigma, and delay in seeking medical help continue to affect many lives. This is why awareness and community participation are so important.
NCSG is not only an organization; it is a platform of hope, courage, and connection. It brings together cancer specialists, survivors, families, health professionals, social workers, volunteers, and concerned individuals with one shared purpose: to support people affected by cancer and promote a cancer-aware society.
As Patron-in-Chief of Nepal Cancer Support Group, I sincerely appreciate everyone who has contributed to this journey — our members, volunteers, healthcare professionals, partner organizations, hospitals, supporters, survivors, and families. Your dedication has helped NCSG reach communities, create awareness, and support people in meaningful ways.
Our work must continue with even greater commitment. We aim to expand cancer awareness programs, strengthen survivor support groups, encourage regular screening, and promote prevention and early detection across Nepal.
💪 Together, we can reduce fear.
📣 Together, we can spread awareness.
💛 Together, we can support survivors.
🇳🇵 Together, we can build a healthier Nepal.
